Denmark’s second city will welcome a new 500 room hotel designed by BIG in 2024 with a 2000 capacity conference centre
The new waterfront district of Aarhus Ø, pictured, will be the setting for the city’s newest conference hotel. Described as a ‘one of a kind architectural experience’, Scandic’s landmark conference complex will encompass a 500-room hotel set adjacent to conference facilities that can seat 2,000 attendees, or 3,500 concert guests.
Additional leisure facilities include a Sky Bar set 75m above the ground and a range of street-level restaurants, plus a waterside restaurant attached to the conference centre and a rooftop café with sea and cityscape views. Designed by Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG), the project includes an exterior public garden walkway with public access covering the full height of the building.
The hotel and conference centre is due to open in 2024. For further information, visit the main Scandic Hotels website.
