Sleep somewhere they'll never forget

Brag-worthy beds, for kids who love an adventure

Retreat to a treehouse and wake up in the canopy

Perched 7–9 metres up in the trees (now on Bornholm too!), Løvtag’s dreamy cabins wrap you in nature without skimping on comfort. There’s a pine tree growing through the middle, a rooftop terrace for stargazing, and even an outdoor shower under the sky. Designed by architect Sigurd Larsen, it’s all clean lines, natural vibes, and seriously good views.

Why families love it: Tree-top thrills for the kids, comfy perks for the parents – it’s a wild stay without roughing it.

Go glamping under Nordic skies

All the adventure of camping, none of the air mattresses. Think real beds, wood-burning stoves, twinkly fairy lights, and skylights made for stargazing – no tent poles or pegs required. Here are some of our picks:

Camp Kattegat – Safari tents tucked behind a sand dune on Denmark’s longest beach. Wake up to sea breeze, toast marshmallows by the fire-pit, and let the kids run wild on the dunes.

Camp Adventure Yurts – Nestled in South Zealand's beech forest, these Mongolian-inspired yurts offer a magical escape. Enjoy private bathrooms, cozy interiors with upcycled decor, and exclusive access to the iconic Forest Tower for sunrise or sunset views.

Coastal camping & cabins

From seaside pitches to modern cabins, Denmark’s 500+ campsites are made for families. You’ll find playgrounds, clean facilities, and even dishwashers in the luxe cabins (seriously). All facilities for campsites are approved by the local authorities and have to reach certain standards. You can browse for campsites via our directory. If you’re feeling really adventurous, you can also sleep out in nature. There isn’t a ‘right to roam’ in Denmark but the Danish authorities allow you to camp out in their woodlands for free, or in a variety of small primitive campsites designed for families and small groups (many without toilets or facilities). Read all about your options on the Danish Environment Agency website here.

Danish summer houses – live like a local

The Danish holiday classic - Summer houses are the obvious choice if you're holidaying as a family and don't want to be in a city. Danish families spend a lot of time in their countryside or beachfront cottages (which can be as well equipped as a family home, or may be more rustic, depending on what you choose).

Find out all about our divine holiday cottages and holiday homes here, and start dreaming of holidays where you get to know the local town well, have a large garden to play in and will have your own kitchen - perfect for picky eaters.

Kid-friendly hotels, hostels and B&Bs in Denmark

There are plenty of family-friendly hotels in Denmark. Many offer baby cots and roll-out beds, but it’s worth checking in advance. In cities, Scandic Hotels are a solid bet, with family rooms that include bunk beds and the option to book an adjoining room for teens. Just note: beachfront spa hotels sometimes have age restrictions, and may be best for over 16s, so check before you book.

Hostels and B&Bs are great options too. Danhostel and Hostelling International offer private family rooms, kitchens and good value – plus, you’ll likely meet other travelling families. Danish B&Bs tend to be cosy and personal, often with a garden, small kitchen and room for the kids to roam.

Stay where everything is awesome

At LEGOLAND® Billund Resort, bedtime is just another part of the adventure. You’re not just booking a room, you’re stepping into a LEGO® universe where knights guard the corridors, pirates sleep under the stars, and mini builders wake up ready to race to the rides.

Sleep inside the park at Fårup Sommerland

At Hotel Fårup, the fun doesn’t end when the rides stop. This cosy forest-themed hotel is right inside the park, so you can roll out of bed and straight into the rollercoasters. Kids sleep in treehouse-style bunk beds, there’s a moose head in the restaurant, and you get early access to select rides before the gates open. Best part? You’re still within shouting distance of the waterpark.
