Hammeren Fyr (Hammeren Lighthouse)
Visit Hammeren Lighthouse at the top of Hammerknuden and enjoy one of Bornholm’s most spectacular views. A unique combination of history, rugged nature and panoramic sea views.

Historic lighthouse with panoramic views of North Bornholm
Hammeren Lighthouse was built in 1872 at the highest point of Hammerknuden, Ørnebjerget. The lighthouse is constructed from granite quarried just a few hundred metres away, set within the dramatic landscape that defines North Bornholm.
Due to its elevated position, 82 metres above sea level, the light could at times be obscured by low clouds and fog. As a result, Hammerodde Lighthouse – the smaller lighthouse further down the slope at Bornholm’s northernmost point – was built in 1895 to support navigation. Hammeren Lighthouse was taken out of operation in 1990, but since 2011, a light once again shines from the top at night.
Today, the lighthouse is open to the public and admission is free. From the top, you are rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views across North Bornholm – and on clear days all the way to the south-east coast of Sweden.
