Café Garden of Sct. Hans
Just a short walk from Roskilde Harbour, Sct. Hans Garden welcomes you with a cosy café serving organic coffee, homemade cakes, light lunches, and refreshing drinks. In the old greenhouse, you can relax among peach, almond, and fig trees.
A small shop offers selected items and herbs from the garden’s own production. Throughout the year, art exhibitions, concerts, and pop-up restaurants bring the garden to life.
Sct. Hans Garden combines nature, culture, and community – a place to explore and enjoy.
Sct. Hans Garden – a unique gem surrounded by beautiful nature
Sct. Hans Garden is surrounded by scenic nature, just a short walk from Roskilde Harbour. The former tractor workshop of the Sct. Hans Psychiatric Centre has been transformed into a café serving local organic coffee, homemade cakes, light lunches, and freshly made soft drinks. The old greenhouse is furnished with garden tables and chairs, as well as peach, almond, and fig trees.
The garden nursery is filled with wonderful organic herbs, most of which can be purchased throughout the season.
Next to the café, you will find a small shop offering unique, carefully selected items alongside products made at Sct. Hans Garden itself.
Not far from the café lies the old chapel of Sct. Hans, where art exhibitions and concerts are held throughout the year. In addition, the garden hosts pop-up restaurants and other cultural events – details can be found on the website and/or via Facebook.
Sct. Hans Garden is guided by the vision of promoting mental health through nature, culture, and inclusive communities. Every day, patients from the Sct. Hans Psychiatric Centre work side by side with volunteers, young people from specially adapted education programmes, and interns to make the area flourish.
