From Nutbush to rock star

Tina - The Tina Turner Musical tells the story of Tina Turner’s life and career, from her childhood in Nutbush, Tennessee, to her breakthrough as a solo artist and her place as the queen of rock ’n’ roll.

The musical traces both her musical journey and her turbulent private life, including her marriage to Ike Turner, her divorce, her comeback and her international solo career in the 1980s.

Tina Turner’s greatest hits

The show is packed with songs from Tina Turner’s career and music by Ike & Tina Turner. Among others, you’ll hear ‘Private Dancer’, ‘Proud Mary’, ‘What’s Love Got to Do with It?’, ‘River Deep Mountain High’, ‘The Best’ and ‘We Don’t Need Another Hero’.

The musical is performed by a large ensemble of singers and actors, accompanied by a live rock band. The Danish singer Iris Gold plays Tina Turner in the title role.

A story of courage and breaking through

Tina - The Tina Turner Musical is also about a woman who defied the gender and racial prejudices of her time and forged a new path for herself.

The script was written by the English playwright Katori Hall. Tina Turner herself helped to create the musical about her life a few years before her death.

The musical thus offers the chance both to hear the famous hits again and to experience the story behind the music.
