The most eco-friendly city destination in Europe

Copenhagen has been ranked as the Best City in Europe to visit for eco-tourism with a score of 6.8 out of 10 in a 2019 study released by travel booking site lastminute.com.
The research looks at the most environmentally-friendly cities based on factors such as accessibility to green space, the extent of public transport networks and cycle routes as well as the availability of carbon-neutral activities like walking and canal tours.
The Danish capital is celebrated for its bike-friendly, green-thinking urban planning and was the official 2014 European Green Capital. The European Commission has furthermore described Copenhagen as a ‘transport pioneer’ for its accessibility for cyclists.
