Near Aakirkeby, you will find Bornholms Automobilmuseum – an award-winning museum filled with classic cars, motorcycles, tractors and nostalgic stories from the history of motoring. Here, car enthusiasts, families and curious visitors can explore more than 80 vehicles from different eras and countries.

The museum features everything from elegant Rolls-Royce, Jaguar and Mercedes models to rare vintage cars, East German vehicles and iconic microcars. Throughout the exhibitions, visitors can also discover fascinating model cars, historical objects and nostalgic memories from everyday life in the past.

Classic cars and nostalgic stories

At Bornholms Automobilmuseum, visitors can experience exhibits such as Hitler’s Mercedes parade car, Al Capone’s armoured Cadillac and a model of President Kennedy’s Lincoln from 1963. The museum also includes an authentic Bornholm garage from the early days of motoring, along with old radios, toys and Bornholm’s very first television.

A special section of the museum focuses on vehicles from Eastern Europe and former East Germany, offering a unique perspective on automotive history from both sides of Europe.
