A museum for curious minds of all ages
Step into a world of technology, everyday history and nostalgia at Bornholms Technical Collection – a museum for the whole family with more than 4,000 m² of indoor exhibitions as well as large outdoor areas featuring machinery and historic objects. Here, you can explore objects from everyday life over the past 150 years – from technology, transport and craftsmanship to machinery and mechanics that tell the story of a changing society.
The museum is built around the historic Østre Borregård in Rutsker, a property with roots dating back to the 17th century, when the land was associated with Hammershus. Today, the historic setting provides the backdrop for an experience where both children and adults can explore everything from machines and technical installations to fascinating collector’s items and borrowed exhibits.
Bornholms Technical Collection is run by a volunteer association with a passion for preserving and sharing the technological and cultural history of everyday life – for present and future generations alike.
The museum is open seasonally from 1 May until the end of the autumn school holiday, daily from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
