C. Th. Zahle was the Member of Parliament for the Ringsted constituency from 1895 to 1928 and served as Prime Minister during World War I, from 1914 to 1918.

During his time in Parliament, Zahle faced many serious issues that required careful consideration, and the bronze ship at the top with the brave helmsman symbolizes his struggle to keep Denmark on the right course, even while the 'storm' raged across Europe.

Zahle was born in Roskilde on January 19, 1866.

The memorial stone is located at the corner of Zahlesvej and Sct. Bendtsgade in Ringsted.
