DCU Camping Kulhuse – Accommodation just a stone’s throw from the water

Visit one of Zealand’s most beautiful natural areas. Here you’ll find a child-friendly beach, activities for the whole family, and easy access to Nordskoven, home to Denmark’s oldest oak trees.

Peace and quiet in scenic surroundings

At the tip of the Hornsherred peninsula lies DCU-Camping Kulhuse – a cosy campsite set in nature, where tranquillity comes naturally. The wide sandy beach is close by and perfect for water play or a relaxing walk along the shoreline. The site is located in hilly terrain with tall pine trees and a protected natural area, ideal for peaceful walks with both two- and four-legged family members.

Plenty of play and togetherness

The campsite offers a large playground with trampolines, climbing frames, swings, a football pitch, and an exciting zipline – all a delight for active children. In a cosy corner, you’ll also find a shelter and a firepit, perfect for enjoying bread on a stick or a relaxed evening by the fire.

Forest trails and historical experiences

Nordskoven forest is just around the corner with its many marked trails and the impressive Kongeegen (“King Oak”), the oldest oak tree in Denmark. A trip to Jægerspris Castle and its beautiful park is also highly recommended for the whole family.

Day trips to Hundested and Frederikssund

From Kulhuse you can take the small ferry to Sølager – a trip of only five minutes – and quickly reach the town of Hundested. Here you can shop, dine at local restaurants, or finish the day with a round of mini-golf. In Frederikssund you’ll find the Willumsen Museum, which offers colourful and unconventional art experiences.

Comfortable luxury cabins

If you would like some extra comfort, you can choose one of the site’s modern luxury cabins. The bright cabins include a kitchen, bathroom, and toilet, and the terrace is perfect for soaking up the sun. The cabins are centrally located with easy access to all facilities and activities.
