Julianehøj is originally a burial place from ancient time.

The hill was excavated in 1776 by a prince who, after the excavation, allowed the sculptor John. Wiedewelt to decorate the hill.

Julianehøj is designed as a memorial of the prince's mother Queen Juliane-Marie
