Experience the Helligdom Cliffs from the sea with M/S Thor

Step aboard the historic wooden vessel M/S Thor for a scenic boat trip along Bornholm’s dramatic rocky coastline between Gudhjem and the Helligdom Cliffs. The old passenger boat has sailed these waters for more than 100 years, offering a unique way to experience Bornholm’s nature, cliffs and sea caves from the water.

The tour begins in Gudhjem Harbour and takes visitors close to steep rock formations, coastal caves and some of Bornholm’s most iconic landscapes. Along the way, the skipper shares stories about local landmarks, Viking legends and life along the Bornholm coast.

Cliffs, caves and Bornholm stories

M/S Thor sails close to the impressive Helligdom Cliffs, where visitors can experience sea caves such as Den Tørre Ovn, Den Våde Ovn and Sorte Gryde from the seaside. The route also passes Hestestenene, Salene Beach and several striking rock formations that have inspired generations of Bornholm artists.

From the boat, visitors experience the Bornholm coastline from a completely different perspective, and with a bit of luck, seals may also be spotted along the shore.
