Look forward to Aarhus Summer Dance – one of the summer's most atmospheric outdoor cultural experiences. When Musikhusparken provides the setting for this popular dance festival, the stage is set for intense movements, sensual moments and community under the open sky.

Free and open to all

Aarhus Summer Dance is free and open to everyone. Find a spot on the grass, bring a picnic and enjoy the art in the company of other culture-loving guests. It is informal, present and accessible – exactly as summer experiences should be.

And - you can join in! If you like to dance, there will be plenty of opportunities to learn new moves, dance together and have fun with dance at the centre. In collaboration with local dance associations, the programme includes West Coast Swing, Samba, Line Dance, K-pop and Lindy Hop.

Modern dance on an international scale

The festival presents modern dance with a strong programme, where some of Denmark's and the world's best dance companies and choreographers unfold on stage. The performances are created for the outdoor format and invite both beginners and dance enthusiasts to experience dance in a new and lively way.

Dance in the middle of the city

The festival takes place in the heart of Aarhus – right next to the Musikhuset and ARoS Aarhus Art Museum – adding an international, artistic touch to the city's summer life. The combination of the city's pulse and the tranquillity of art makes Aarhus Summer Dance a very special experience.
