In the heart of Klintholm’s charming harbour environment, you’ll find Ålehuset – a new café and shop with deep roots in local history. The name is no coincidence: Ålehuset is located in the building with the old eel basins – still visible today – which were once used to store live eels, an essential part of the harbour’s life and trade for generations. Today, the place has been gently transformed into a cozy and tasteful meeting spot where past and present come together.
A café with a view – and quality in every cup
At Ålehuset, we serve local ice cream, coffee, cold drinks, delicious sandwiches and much more – perfect for a relaxing break with views of lapping waves and sailing boats. Everything is selected with care and love for quality and proximity: local ingredients, tasty specialties and a welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel at home right away.
Ålehuset also features a stylish outdoor area with large parasols and comfortable furniture – including lounge seating and picnic benches – all set in a maritime vibe.

The adjoining shop offers a fine selection of local foods, crafts, and soulful gifts. Many products tell their own story from Møn – and many are made in direct collaboration with passionate locals from the area. Ålehuset is more than just a café and shop – it's a modern gathering place built on old traditions. Throughout the season, we host a variety of harbour-front events. The aim is to create life and community in the old harbour area – while honouring the proud fishing traditions that once defined this place.

Ålehuset is run by gourmet chef Jesper Dams (owner of Restaurant ND122 in Klintholm Harbour) and marketing specialist Simon Zachodnik, both deeply passionate about local development on Møn – especially in Klintholm Harbour.
