Avnsø Badesø near Særløse – swimming in one of Zealand’s cleanest lakes
Avnsø Badesø near Særløse is known as one of the cleanest lakes on Zealand and offers good facilities in scenic surroundings. Visitors will find a bathing jetty, a fire pit and picnic tables. The shallow shoreline makes the area especially suitable for families with children.
The beach is 5–10 metres wide and approximately 50 metres long. The shoreline consists of a mix of soil and coarse sand, while the lakebed is sandy. The water depth increases gradually from the shore, creating safe conditions for swimming. At its deepest point, the lake reaches up to 8 metres.
Nature experiences around the lake
Avnsø is surrounded by forest on all sides, creating a peaceful and scenic setting. The area is ideal for walks, picnics and relaxing by the water. The combination of clean bathing water and beautiful nature makes the lake a popular excursion spot in the Fjordlandet region.
The site is easily accessible from the car park at the end of Vernersmindevej in Særløse. An information board and hiking leaflets are available at the parking area, offering inspiration for exploring the surrounding landscape.
