Bette Berlin Cycle Route

The Bette Berlin Cycle Route takes you through an area where nature and history meet. Along the way, you cycle past several historic sites that tell the story of life and events in the area during the Second World War.

At the same time, the route offers scenic stretches with beautiful landscapes, peaceful surroundings and varied scenery. This makes for a cycle ride with both nature experiences and fascinating stories from the past.

Before the route continues towards Bette Berlin, Madum Sø, the railway sabotage site at Store Økssø, Hollandshus and Skørping Privathospital, it is a good idea to visit the three memorials in Rebild Bakker: Flyverstenen, Tyskerstenen and the listening post at Sønderkol.

Route description

Rebild Bakker

Start your trip at RebildPorten. From here, you can visit the three memorials in Rebild Bakker: Flyverstenen at Rebild Bakker, Tyskerstenen and the listening post at Sønderkol.

Once you have visited the memorials, the route continues towards the railway sabotage site at Store Økssø.

The railway sabotage site at Store Økssø

Address: Møldrupvej 34, 9520 Skørping

From the car park at RebildPorten, turn right and follow cycle route 3/Hærvejen until you reach Store Økssø.

Cross under the railway through the pedestrian tunnel. You have now reached the destination.

Madum Sø

Address: Car park at Madum Søvej, 9520 Skørping

Continue along cycle route 27 to Madum Sø.

Bette Berlin

Address: Gerdingvej between Skørping and Fræer, 9520 Skørping

Continue along cycle route 27 to Hellum. Turn right onto Skørpingvej and follow the road for approx. 200 metres.

Then turn left onto Bavnehøjvej and continue for 3.3 km. Turn left onto Lyngbyvej/Blenstrupvej and follow the road for 90 metres.

Now turn left onto Lyngbyvej and continue straight ahead for 1.2 km. Then turn right onto Gerdingvej. Follow Gerdingvej for 550 metres, and you will now be able to see Bette Berlin in the field.

Hollandshus

Address: Buderupholm car park, 9520 Skørping

Continue along Gerdingvej towards Fræer. In Fræer, turn left onto Fræervej and follow the road for 2.8 km.

Then turn left onto Skindbjergvej and follow the road for 170 metres until you need to turn left onto Gl. Skørpingvej.

Now follow cycle route 3/Hærvejen until you reach Buderupholmvej. Turn left onto Buderupholmvej and follow the road for 1.3 km until you reach Buderupholm car park on the right-hand side.

Skørping Privathospital

Address: Himmerlandsvej 36, 9520 Skørping

From the car park, turn right onto Buderupholmvej and continue to the roundabout. Take the first exit from the roundabout onto Himmerlandsvej.

Cycle approx. 50 metres. You will now be able to see Skørping Privathospital between the trees on the right-hand side.

Return to RebildPorten

Continue along Himmerlandsvej/Rebildvej towards Rebild until you reach the car park at Rebild Bakker and RebildPorten.
