Art, architecture and nature experiences by the Helligdom Cliffs
Bornholms Kunstmuseum is located high above the Helligdom Cliffs between Gudhjem and Tejn, surrounded by one of Bornholm’s most spectacular coastal landscapes. With its distinctive architecture, views across the Baltic Sea and unique location in the middle of nature, the museum is an attraction in itself – both for art lovers and visitors looking for a cultural stop along the coast.
The museum is a vibrant cultural space with art exhibitions, events, workshops, a café and a shop, all centred around Bornholm art, crafts and design. Here, you can experience works by the famous Bornholm School painters such as Oluf Høst, Edvard Weie and Karl Isakson, alongside changing exhibitions featuring both classical and contemporary art.
Experiences for both children and adults
Bornholms Kunstmuseum offers experiences for the whole family. Children and adults can explore the museum through detail hunts among the artworks, take a walk through the sculpture park or experience Bornholm through the many stories and expressions found in the art.
At the ticket desk, children can collect activity sheets and pencils for the museum’s popular detail hunt, and those who complete the challenge receive a small reward. Admission is free for children and young people under the age of 18.
Current exhibitions and creative experiences
Throughout the year, Bornholms Kunstmuseum presents changing exhibitions focusing on art, design and crafts. During the current season, visitors can experience exhibitions about the Bornholm artist Inge Lise Westman, the Bornholm painters and experimental artworks spanning from World War II to the present day.
A visit to Bornholms Kunstmuseum can easily be combined with a walk along the coastal paths by the Helligdom Cliffs or a day exploring Gudhjem and the surrounding area, where nature, art and Bornholm atmosphere come together.
