Børsen Sønderho

The harbour of Sønderho was once located here, and Børsen was the town’s natural gathering place.

Sailors, fishermen and local residents met here to exchange news, discuss the events of the day and keep up with life at sea and in the village. For centuries, the harbour played an important role in Sønderho’s maritime life, but over time it gradually silted up.

Today, this history has been brought back to life. Through an extensive restoration project, the harbour and navigation channel have been re-established, making the area navigable once again for smaller vessels. Børsen therefore stands not only as a reminder of the past, but also as a symbol of the connection between Sønderho’s maritime heritage and the vibrant harbour environment that once again characterises the area.
