The trail is long enough to give a real sense of having been out in nature, but without major climbs or technical challenges.

Pack a mushroom guide in your rucksack in autumn, or sit by Lillesø with binoculars and watch the birds at the water’s edge. Practical Information

The red route is waymarked and easy to follow. The surface varies between forest roads, trampled paths, and occasional gravel sections. Ordinary walking shoes are sufficient for most of the year, though wellington boots can be an advantage in the wettest winter months. There are no facilities along the route, so bring water and a packed lunch. Parking is available at Lillesø.

Bromme Plantage is only a few kilometres from the town of Sorø, where Sorø Academy and the protected Academy Garden offer cultural experiences and beautiful walks along Sorø Sø. To the south, the Tystrup-Bavelse lakes stretch out as one of Zealand’s largest connected freshwater areas, and the Susa river winds through the landscape with opportunities for canoeing and fishing.
