KOX'eriet

KOX’eriet is a learning café in Hjallerup where young people in STU training develop skills in café operations in cosy surroundings with good food and coffee.

Located in the heart of Hjallerup, KOX’eriet is both a café and a learning environment. Run as part of the Specially Designed Youth Education (STU) under AOF Nordjylland, it offers young people a safe space to test and build their practical skills in different aspects of café and workshop work.

KOX’eriet is Hjallerup’s version of Café KOX in Brønderslev and offers a three-year STU programme. Participants have the opportunity to work in both the hot and cold kitchen, customer service, and practical maintenance tasks, all within a realistic and friendly café setting. Through this hands-on training, students gain both professional and personal development – while guests enjoy delicious food and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

Four teams with different focus areas

Handy Team

This team ensures the café is always clean and inviting. Students gain experience in cleaning, maintenance and service tasks.

Hot Kitchen

In the hot kitchen, daily warm meals are prepared. Students learn about food hygiene and how to cook dishes in accordance with KOX’eriet’s high standards and the Danish Health Authority’s guidelines.

Cold Kitchen

This team prepares cold dishes such as salads and sandwiches – with an emphasis on flavour and visual presentation. Students develop skills in kitchen and delicatessen work.

Service & Barista

The service and barista team is responsible for welcoming guests and creating visually appealing hot drinks at the café’s coffee bar. The focus here is on customer service and presentation.

Cosy setting and great atmosphere

KOX’eriet offers a welcoming indoor café and a small courtyard where you can enjoy your food or coffee in peace. Everything is made with care – and you can taste it. Food is also available for take-away.
