Take a cozy horse-drawn carriage ride through the charming streets of Faaborg and into the rolling South Funen countryside, ending at Kaleko Mill – Denmark’s oldest preserved watermill.

A journey back in time at a relaxed pace

The tour begins at Faaborg’s central square and takes you along cobbled streets lined with half-timbered houses and historic merchant homes. Along the way, you can enjoy the beautiful South Funen landscape as the carriage gently rolls toward Kaleko Mill.

Kaleko Mill – a living museum

Upon arrival at Kaleko Mill, you step into a piece of living history. The mill dates back to the 1600s and operated until 1912. Today, it functions as a museum under Øhavsmuseet. You can see the old millworks in action and learn about the life and work of a traditional miller. Kaleko Mill is also known as a filming location for the beloved Danish Christmas series “Nissebanden,” adding a nostalgic touch to your visit.
