Christmas activities at Ree Park
Experience the Christmas spirit at Ree Park, which is decorated especially for Christmas and offers activities and fun for everyone, including the little ones.

Christmas spirit and a Christmas market for the whole family
In December, Ree Park on Djursland invites you to ‘Christmas at Ree Park’, featuring a Christmas market, family entertainment and encounters with the park’s animals. Parts of the park are decorated with fir trees and lights, creating a cosy setting for a Christmas outing for both children and adults.
You can go hunting for Christmas presents, enjoy entertainment for the children and savour classic Christmas treats along the way.
Christmas entertainment for children and adults
The first Christmas weekend offers entertainment for the whole family. On Saturday 5 December 2026, Teater Fantast will be visiting the park with ‘Mustafa’s Kiosk’, whilst on Sunday 6 December, children can enjoy a show featuring ‘Børste’. Both shows start at 1.30 pm.
On 12–13 and 19–20 December 2026, you can explore the Christmas market with stalls both indoors and outdoors. Here you’ll find inspiration for Christmas presents and the chance to enjoy festive treats such as roast pork sandwiches, hot chocolate, mulled wine and apple fritters.
Meet the animals up close
Christmas also offers the chance to experience the animals at Ree Park. At selected times, you can watch the feeding sessions and learn more about the animals’ daily lives.
You can also take part in a barn tour, where you’ll get up close to some of the animals, ask questions and learn more about their lives. Barn tours require a separate ticket.
Take a Christmas train ride on the North American prairie
Hop aboard the Black Beauty steam train or the Armstrong diesel train as the Amerika Express travels through the park’s North American area. Along the way, you can spot American bison and arctic wolves in the winter landscape.
The train journey gives the family the chance to see the animals from a different angle and enjoy the natural surroundings along the track. The Amerika Express runs from 10.30 am, with the last departure of the day at 3.30 pm.
Play in Den Lille Dal
When the children need to let off some steam, Den Lille Dal is an ideal stop during your Christmas visit. Here, they can play and explore Jakob Martin Strid’s imaginative world, whilst the family takes a break from the Christmas market and the park’s other attractions.
Around the park, you’ll also find hot drinks and festive treats that are perfect for a day of outdoor adventures in December.
