Jul på FÆNGSLET is one of the first and largest Danish Christmas markets of the year, held annually in November at FÆNGSLET in Horsens. Here, you can experience everything a good Christmas market should offer – in large quantities.

Feel the Christmas peace descend upon FÆNGSLET's enormous Christmas market and spend a couple of cozy hours in the uniquely decorated surroundings.

Join the opening parade
New this year, you can participate in the Christmas parade on opening day, November 8th. The first 200 people will receive torches, while the first 100 children will get LED torches for the parade, which circles the entire FÆNGSLET. The parade ends in the prison yard, where there will be a fire show and the lighting of FÆNGSLET's new large Christmas light facade. 10% of the entrance fees on opening day will be donated to the Red Cross Christmas aid, so by attending, you can make a positive difference for others.
Schedule and tickets
Due to its immense popularity and demand, Jul På FÆNGSLET is held over six days in November. In 2023, it attracted 39,000 visitors. In 2024, the Christmas market will take place on the 8th-10th and 15th-17th of November.
Tickets can be purchased at the door (at the gate leading into the prison courtyard). There may be a long line upon arrival, but dedicated and skilled staff at the ticket booth ensure that the wait is never too long. You can also choose to buy your ticket in advance and go through the fast-track entrance upon arrival.

About the Organizers
Christmas at FÆNGSLET is organized in collaboration between FÆNGSLET and Habengut Market. FÆNGSLET boasts extensive experience in hosting large events – from music festivals to fairs, medieval festivals, and stadium concerts. FÆNGSLET is also home to Europe's largest prison museum, a dining establishment, accommodation behind bars, and activities in the prison park.
