When the old church bell — the same one that calls fish buyers to auction every morning — rings out for the evening service, something quietly magical happens. Fish crates serve as pews, beach grass in rubber boots stands in for altar flowers, and the smell of the sea hangs in the air as a reminder of everything this community is built on. It's a place where democracy, faith and coastal life come together in the most natural way.

After the service, free coffee and home-baked goods are served before the evening wraps up with a concert. This year's performers are Helge Engelbrecht and Anne-Marie Hassing, bringing "Sange til livet" (Songs for Life) – original songs about the big and small things that shape us as people. Helge is well known from Mariehaven in Ansager, where he opens his garden each summer with his 15-piece ensemble Neighbours & Friends; Anne-Marie is a soloist and choir singer in the same group. Together, they promise a warm and heartfelt evening in the harbour's unique surroundings.

The event is free and open to all. Dress warmly – and feel free to bring a cushion to sit on.
