Day of the manor houses

Manor Day offers open castles and manor houses all over the country. Explore beautiful parks, historic buildings and exciting events.

A day in honour of cultural heritage

This year, 48 castles and manor houses across Denmark open their doors and invite you inside for a very special day. Manor Day offers a wealth of activities, tours and experiences in a unique historical setting.

You can experience everything from guided tours of stately homes to live storytelling, music, flavours and activities for the whole family.

Cultural history in a living setting

The purpose of Manor House Day is to shed light on an important part of the Danish cultural heritage. Castles and manor houses have characterised the Danish landscape for centuries, but many are overlooked cultural gems today. Manor House Day gives you the opportunity to delve into the stories behind the buildings and meet the people who keep them alive today.

Behind the Day of Manor Houses

The initiative was started by Gammel Estrup Danish Manor Museum and has been held every year since 2019. The event has quickly developed into a nationwide event where locals and tourists alike can explore Denmark's manorial heritage.
