Beach south of the city and near Idrætshøjskolen in Sønderborg. The name den Sorte Badestrand (black beach) originates from a former bathing establishment that was located here and whose buildings were painted black.

Pets on the beach?
From April to September, dogs must be kept on a lead.

This beach has been awarded the Blue Flag, where in 2022 the zone was active 5 June - 15 September. The pet owners and the four-legged friends can stay on the beach and swim outside the Blue Flag Zone - see pdf under Download.

Dogs and other domestic animals may pass the zone at the back of the beach, but may not stay on the beach or in the water within the zone itself - with the exception of service and guide dogs.
