Short statement

I am inspired by Nature, - by plants, sea life, powerful geological processes, and by the transformation and refinement of Earth materials.

Nature is a huge source of inspiration for me. Geology, sea life, plants, microlife, galaxies, natures processes…

As a ceramic artist I work directly with minerals and their transformation into something new. This inspires me. Themes like creation, time, evolution, darkness and light, transformation.

I try to achieve a sense of inner life radiating from my pots, using simple and stringent shapes with small irregularities, combined with rough surface textures, chalk-like matte slips,  dark graphic patterns, and sometimes a shiny glaze in parts.

I work mostly with stoneware and porcelain clays, fired in electric  kiln. I like the pots to be rough and refined at the same time.

I use a native Indian coiling technique for my big pots. Smaller pots for use are made on my old kickwheel.
