Explore nature's autumn at AQUA Akvarium & Dyrepark
From 11 to 19 October, you can get a taste of nature and explore nature's vast larder with AQUA Aquarium & Animal Park in Silkeborg. Here you can join guides on a daily hunt for mushrooms in the forest and help make wild pizzas with herbs and edible insects.
Autumn Holiday Programme 2026
Autumn is upon us, and with it come mythical creatures, dancing lights and stories told round the campfire. During the autumn holidays, 10–18 October, AQUA Aquarium & Wildlife Park invites you inside to a world of myths, mystery and magic from the Danish countryside. Aqua brings the magical Northern Lights into the aquarium, where you can listen to old Danish folk tales and light a candle for your favourite animal.
By the campfire, you can warm yourself with a cup of hot chocolate, make amulets from the antlers of a red deer and carve turnip lanterns, just as people did in days gone by. All around the park, you can meet the animals and hear the fascinating myths and tales they have inspired – and find out what’s fact and what’s fiction.

3.00 pm: Otter feeding
3.45 pm: Facts and fiction – the eel
5.00 pm: AQUA Aquarium & Wildlife Park closes
