Fair Trade Butik Salam in Vejle is a very different kind of shop, filled with colourful crafts and interesting speciality goods from countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Here, visitors can find unique products, each with its own story – perfect as a special gift or a memorable souvenir from a visit to Vejle.
The selection ranges from jewellery, games, felt figures and toys to baskets, bags, scarves, glassware, cups, chocolate, coffee and many other carefully selected items. What the products have in common is that they are made according to Fair Trade principles. This means that the producers receive fair payment and work under proper conditions. At the same time, Fair Trade Butik Salam focuses on recycling and responsible trade.
Shopping at Fair Trade Butik Salam supports artisans and small producers – especially women in developing countries – and helps create better opportunities for them and their families.
Fair Trade Butik Salam has existed since 1992 and is run by dedicated volunteers.
