Find Fjordlandet’s Three Trolls in Roskilde and Hedeland

Runde Rie by the Lynghøj Lakes

Runde Rie lives by the water’s edge at one of the three Lynghøj Lakes in Roskilde. She sits holding a stick and a small piece of rope, making it look as though she is fishing in the calm water.

The area is peaceful and family-friendly, making it a good choice for a day out in nature with children, grandparents or friends.

How to find Runde Rie

• Address/parking: Park at Lindenborgvej 45, 4000 Roskilde.
• Route: From here, it is around 1 km to the troll along easy paths.
• Accessibility: The walk is well suited to families with children.

Runde Rie was built in 2020 as part of The Great Troll Folk Fest and is a good first stop on your troll hunt.

Glade Anders in Hedeland Nature Park

Glade Anders stands in the woods in Hedeland Nature Park, not far from the ski slope and amphitheatre. He is known as a kind of decoy troll, drawing attention to himself and away from his mother, Måne Mor.

To find him, follow a series of small clues, including birdhouses that guide you further along the paths. This turns the walk into a small treasure hunt where children can help lead the way.

How to find Glade Anders

• Address/parking: Park at Tranemosevej 8, 2640 Hedehusene.
• Route: From the car park, it is around 1–1.3 km along woodland paths.
• Combine with: Glade Anders is only around 1 km from Måne Mor.

Glade Anders is a good choice if you would like to combine the experience with a longer walk in Hedeland and then continue on to Måne Mor.

Måne Mor in Hedeland Nature Park

Måne Mor is troll number 100 and is described by Thomas Dambo as the mother of the trolls. She is pregnant and hides deep in the woods, where she is waiting to bring her troll child into the world in peace and quiet.

Finding Måne Mor is a slightly more demanding and adventurous walk. She is not marked on the official troll map but remains a hidden experience for visitors who enjoy exploring.

How to find Måne Mor

• Starting point: Use the same parking area as for Glade Anders at Tranemosevej 8.
• Route: From here, continue deeper into the woods along smaller paths.
• Difficulty: The walk to Måne Mor is best suited to older children and adults who are ready for a longer adventure.
