Handmade ceramics with character

At Formuleret Keramik, on the charming Jægergårdsgade in Aarhus, you’ll find a workshop, shop and gallery all under one roof. Here, ceramicist Ninna Gøtzsche creates handmade ceramics on the potter’s wheel – including cups, mugs, vases, bowls, plates, platters and one-off pieces.

Ninna Gøtzsche works with porcelain clay, and after being thrown on the wheel, her pieces are finished using various techniques before being glazed and fired.

Ceramics created in the workshop shop

The ceramics are shaped, finished, glazed and fired in the workshop shop, and you can explore both the shop area and the back room.

In production, there is a strong focus on recycling and green initiatives. Among other things, the workshop has lowered the firing temperature, recycles scraps and glazing materials, and uses recycled packaging from other shops on the street for online orders.

Flaws and irregularities are actively used as part of the development of new forms and expressions, thereby adding personality and making each product unique. This results in ceramics created to be used and cherished for many years.
