and they have also played at Wonder!

Anna, Emil and Jeppe met in Odense 8 years ago and discovered that they were made for each other. However, the creative energy of their new friendship only truly came into its own on a subsequent trip to a vacation home that would define their future.

There, their enterprising egos went from running in separate directions like three wild horses to pulling together as a team.

They moved from envy to respect for one another and redirected their individual strengths toward the group, writing 10 songs in a short space of time.

With those boundaries removed, they went on to write 100 songs within a year.

The band, made up of the three close friends, has won competitions organized by both Jelling Festival and Tinderbox, with both the jury and the audience giving the trio the majority of their votes.

Their debut album yielded a couple of radio hits, notably the single “Hvad vil du ha´”, and the band subsequently wrote the World Cup song “Vi gør det hele igen” for the women’s national soccer team.

The band has performed live many times. In particular, their appearance at the SPOT festival, supporting acts such as Love Shop, and performances at summer festivals including Smukfest, Wonderfestiwall, Jelling and Midtfyn have opened more doors for them.

In 2026, the trio begins a new chapter with the release of new songs on several EPs that will be brought together as an album.

Anna – vocals, guitar

Anna grew up in Esbjerg with her father’s fascination with American hot rods, accompanied by rockabilly and Lynyrd Skynyrd on the stereo. A Police concert in Aarhus proved to be a turning point in her life, though: that same day, she bought a guitar and began pursuing her dreams. Anna has also been a drummer in a punk band. At a young age, she sported green hair, studs and a mohawk as she rebelled against her comfortable middle-class upbringing.

Her influences include: Joni Mitchell, Kate Bush, Jack Antonoff, Taylor Swift, Lorde, Anne Linnet, Linda Perry, Portishead, Bruce Springsteen, The Cure and Fleetwood Mac.

Emil – bass, guitar, keyboards

Like Anna, Emil spent his teenage years listening to Green Day, whose combination of energy and melody left its mark. “My dad took me to a Kashmir concert when I was 11, and it completely blew me away.” He grew up in a schoolteacher’s household and was sent to piano lessons with the strict Lilian in his first year of school, before first grade. Later, he picked up his father’s newly purchased guitar, which revealed a new direction for him. At 16, in true crowd-surfing style, he won the title of best guitarist at an Emergenza music competition. In the end, though, it was the bass that Emil truly fell in love with.

Emil’s playing is influenced by: Royal Blood, The Big Bang, D-A-D, Kashmir, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Simon & Garfunkel, Bonnie Light Horseman, Goldfish, Green Day, Diana Krall, Chet Baker and the Beatles.

Fräulein Jeppe – drums

Like Emil, Jeppe grew up in Odense, immersed in the world of music, and he was holding drumsticks before he could walk. At 10, his heart really began to beat for the drums when he started taking lessons. Shortly afterward, his parents spent some of their limited student grants on a drum kit, setting his course. Since meeting Emil and Anna 8 years ago, he has honed his beat, not least during the pandemic, when he played drums for up to 5 hours a day while the band was unable to meet and play together.

Influences: Fleetwood Mac, Radiohead, Stanley Donwood, Michael Strunge, Kate Bush, Future Islands, Patti Smith, Bruce Springsteen, David Bowie and Prince.

The name Fräulein

Pronounced: frøjlajn. Despite the umlaut and diminutive ending in their name, the band is Danish through and through. They had been invited to meetings at several record labels and had not yet come up with a band name when an incoming text message from a female friend in Germany came up in conversation on their way up the stairs to one of the meetings.

Bonus facts about Fräulein

“We are all huge nerds who love playing unusual board games and PlayStation – and, not least, we are absolutely crazy about Star Wars. Another shared interest in the band is good coffee.”
