Garden tour of the H.C. Andersen Garden

Walking, experiencing and sensing are essential themes in the author's fairy tales and the basis for the design of Hans Christian Andersen Garden.

The gardens, the museum architecture and the museum's main exhibition are closely intertwined, allowing the visitor to step in and out of reality and fantasy, as we experience it in Andersen's fairy tales. The garden is composed as a walk through moods and atmosphere, with high hedges leading along winding paths through a series of scenographic garden rooms. Instead of retelling the well-known fairy tales one-on-one, the garden lets the visitor take the lead role and explore the garden and Andersen's fairy tale universe.

Join a guided tour of Hans Christian Andersen Garden with one of the museum's guides and get deeper into Andersen's universe.
