From Gørlev it is surprisingly short to the coast. Both west and northwest the landscape opens toward the Great Belt and Sejerø Bay. The Røsnæs peninsula with its dramatic cliffs and rare steppe-like nature is half an hour's drive away, and Reersø — the tiny fishing village clinging to its own small peninsula — offers an atmosphere that feels worlds away from everyday life. To the south lies Tissø with its Viking history and one of Zealand's richest bird areas.
