The Great Escape - The prison playground

FÆNGSLET’s fun playground “The Great Escape” is free to visit and open to everyone.

When escaping from the prison becomes great fun

In the green areas outside Northern Europe's largest prison museum, children can play in a miniature version of FÆNGSLET called "The Great Escape." Whether you've just explored the intriguing prison exhibition or are simply looking for a great playground, you're welcome here in the publicly accessible park.

With hidden escape routes, jungle nets, climbing walls, slides, swings, and more, there's plenty of challenge for young adventurers. Kids can unleash their imagination and play prison guard and capture.

Around the playground, there are plenty of picnic tables where parents can keep an eye on the children while enjoying a packed lunch. Alternatively, you can take a few steps to Brasseriet FÆNGSLET, where you can get a good cup of coffee, a soft drink, or a lunch meal.

1-2-3-4… 1000 meters!

The prison park encircles FÆNGSLET. When there are no medieval festivals or other large events, you can enjoy the green surroundings and activities. A path named 'Thousand Meter Trail' takes you around the park. Along the way, you’ll pass a football golf course, escape rooms, and a beautiful viewpoint overlooking Nørrestrand.

And since you're here anyway… why not visit the Prison Museum? Children and young people have free admission, so only the parents need to pay a modest fee.
