A castle full of life and charm

Hindsgavl Castle is much more than a traditional castle. In the main building (the castle), we have dining rooms, function rooms and meeting rooms, which can be booked in whole or in part for weddings, parties and corporate events. In the Castle Barn, there is both dining and a wealth of events ranging from concerts, lectures and entertainment to trade fairs, conferences and corporate parties.

The rooms vary greatly in terms of décor, size and design, depending on whether they are located in the castle wings, in the ‘stables’ or in the small Blacksmith’s House, set apart from it all.

No two stays are the same at Hindsgavl Castle. Here, it is the seasons, the festive periods and your wishes that set the mood. Every season has its own charm, offering the chance to experience new aspects of Hindsgavl Castle.

Exquisite indulgence from the Castle Kitchen

In the Castle Kitchen, we follow nature’s rhythm. Here, the journey from farm to table is short. The ingredients change character with the seasons and make their way from our kitchen garden and local suppliers to your plate with the care that characterises this place.

Fruit, vegetables and herbs come largely from the castle’s own large kitchen garden – completely fresh when in season, and pickled, preserved and fermented at other times of the year. Special dietary requirements are no problem at Hindsgavl Castle, provided the kitchen is notified in advance.

Surrounded by Funen’s idyllic countryside

With the castle grounds, The Deer Park, the forest and the Little Belt right on its doorstep, Hindsgavl Castle stands as a historic gem amidst the vibrant, ever-changing natural landscape.

The castle park alone covers a full 40,000 square metres and features carefully curated remnants of the old Baroque garden with terraces, ponds, avenues and old trees dating from around 1750, which were redesigned in the Romantic style in the early 1800s. From this period, the tea pavilion “Sorgenfri”, featuring verses by H.C. Andersen – who was very fond of visiting Hindsgavl – and the Hermitage have been preserved.

Take a dip in Fænøsund

At the far end of the castle grounds, the water glistens blue and inviting. Here, Hindsgavl Castle has its own small private beach with a bathing jetty and a covered changing area for guests. You are welcome to take a refreshing dip or simply stroll along the water’s edge and enjoy the view towards Fænø and the beech-lined shores.

Hindsgavl, Middelfart and the surrounding area offer plenty of opportunities for trips and excursions during the days you and your partner are being pampered here with us. Please do ask us, and we’ll guide you to experiences you won’t forget.
