The church of Horbelev is built of boulder and chalk bricks during the 1200th century. Tower, porch and apsis are built later. The church has been red-painted as the most of the churches on Falster, but since a restoration around 1880, the church has been whitewashed.

On the side of the tower you can see four heads imbedded in the wall. The heads are believed to be connected to the medieval ballad about Hr.Ttroels and his daughters.
