A restaurant by the fjord

Large windows, soft daylight, a view across Holbæk Fjord and the sound of water in the background: this historic inn combines classic Danish comfort with modern Nordic elegance. The light interior, inspired by Danish seaside hotels, creates a calm and welcoming atmosphere.

Both lunch and dinner are served – from a light dish on the terrace to a three-course menu indoors. Whether you come as a couple or as a larger party, the aim is that food, view and personal service add up to a whole. Book well ahead, as tables are in demand.

A kitchen that respects the season

The food rests on Nordic values: quality, simplicity and respect for fresh seasonal produce. The menu holds a range of well-known Danish dishes, many of them in a modern version – at lunch the generous "stjerneskud" with fried and steamed fish, prawns, smoked salmon and garnishes, and in the evening classics such as wiener schnitzel and the house speciality: crisp pork belly with potatoes, parsley sauce and pickled beetroot. A seasonal menu changes every month, and you can choose one, two or three courses from it.

The inn works with the two vineyards of the Tuse Næs peninsula, Bognæs Vingaard and Tusen Vin, so you can enjoy wines from the immediate area alongside the Nordic kitchen.

Food, view and atmosphere

The terrace faces south, so on warm days you can sit with the sun on your face, a glass of wine or a cold beer, and let your eyes wander across the water. Indoors, the bright, classic rooms bring a sense of calm and intimacy.

Events through the year

The inn hosts events all year round – from the Easter lunch, Martinmas and Midsummer to the Christmas lunches. Alongside these come formats of its own, such as music bingo, film evenings and a history day with lunch, a guided tour and a talk on the inn's more than 800 years of history.
