One garden leads into the next. More than 20 themed gardens across 50,000 m².

Hops climb 42 poles in Fyn's largest hop garden. Roses fill 16 beds, edged with low hedges. The dahlia collection counts over 1,000 plants.

The old hop warehouse in Harndrup has grown into a large garden complex with its own museum – four museums, in fact, under one roof: the Sigfred Pedersen Museum dedicated to the local poet, the Historic Doll Museum with 137 porcelain figures of royals and historical figures, the Princess Marie of Orléans Museum, the Hop Museum tracing the history of the site, and rotating exhibitions.

In the café, set in the original private parlors, the famous Princess Marie layer cake is served – named after Princess Marie of Orléans.

Humlemagasinet is one of the most visited cultural experiences in Middelfart Municipality. A visit typically takes 2 – 4 hours. Allow plenty of time – there is a lot to take in.

Parking is available behind the main building. Dogs are welcome in the gardens on a leash.

Museums: Humlemagasinet is also home to a museum dedicated to the locally born songwriter and author Sigfred Pedersen.

The historic doll collection holds a unique set of 137 royal and historical figures crafted in porcelain with "original" period costumes.

The Hop Museum tells the story of the site across more than 100 years.

Gardens: Outside, you can wander through the many beautiful gardens – including Fyn's largest hop garden, a Fyn apple orchard, an English rose garden, the Queen Ingrid Garden, a farmstead garden, over 1,000 dahlias, and much more. Throughout the gardens you'll find several garden pavilions and seating areas where you can enjoy your own food and coffee.

Café: Or you can step into the café in the old private parlors and enjoy a cup of coffee and the famous Princess Marie layer cake. In 2012, Queen Margrethe visited Humlemagasinet during her summer cruise and experienced the Doll Museum, the historical exhibition about her grandfather Christian X, and the Queen Ingrid Garden.

Christmas exhibition

Every year from late October, Humlemagasinet opens a atmospheric Christmas exhibition in the historic buildings in Harndrup. The exhibition combines the spirit of Christmas with the site's permanent museums and gardens.
