Kolding City Archives is the city and municipality's shared memory – a treasure trove of photographs, documents, maps and memories of life in Kolding since the birth of democracy. Here you can explore both municipal history and stories from citizens, associations and businesses.

You can delve into the archive's digital collections via koldingstadsarkiv.dk or visit the Historical Workshop and get help finding information about your family, your home or the city's development. At the workshop you can gain access to the original collections.

The archive collects, preserves and shares history in collaboration with citizens. If you have photos, letters, association material, company archives or digital files that tell something about life in Kolding, you can hand them over to the archive and help ensure that the present also becomes part of the history of the future.

We insist that knowledge should be democratic – both in terms of access and use. This means that we do not have a monopoly on history, but make room for many stories and create the framework for history to provide value, be experienced as relevant and support local cohesion.

Because everyone has a place in history!
