South of the town of Lohals, you’ll find a long stretch of wadeable coastline. Several freshwater outlets attract sea trout during autumn, winter, and spring. In summer, however, this spot is less productive.

Instead, Lohals Point, located at the northern edge of the town, is an excellent alternative. Deep water close to shore makes this small coastal projection a great year-round spot. The stretch is no more than 100 meters long, yet it acts as a true magnet for sea trout – especially on cold winter days. But even in summer, on warm evenings, sea trout move in as soon as the beachgoers from the sandy beach just north of the point have gone home.
