The harbour is deep inside of Egens Vig (bay) with a view of Mols Bjerge, Helgenæs, and Aarhus Bay. only a few hundred meters from Kalø Castle Ruin.

There is a bathing beach, playground, and forests with marked hiking trails. The harbour has all necessary facilities for anglers. There is a small beach and bathing jetty on the outside of the pier towards west.

There is 3 km to Rønde city, where you can find grocery stores and other kinds of shops. From the harbour, there are bus connections to Rønde, Ebeltoft, and Aarhus. also, there is a bike path to Rønde.
