Coastal shelter located overlooking Nybøl Nor. The shelter is named after a wading bird that is easily recognisable by its black and white plumage and red beak, legs and, not least, eyes. It is known as Tjaldur in the Faroe Islands, where it is also the national bird.

You can sail to the site, which is marked with a red sign with the text ‘Overnatning’ (Overnight stay).

The mini shelter, Hejren, can accommodate 3 people and must be booked in advance. A maximum of 2 nights may be spent here, and dogs on leash is allowed here.

About booking shelters:
When you book a shelter, you get first dibs on that shelter – not the whole place, which others are welcome to use while you're there. The booking is from noon to noon the next day.

You will receive an email from the booking system 10 days before the booked date. Here you must confirm that you still want to use the shelter on the desired day or cancel the booking. If you do not respond to the email, the booking will be automatically cancelled 6 days before the booked date.

Once you have confirmed the booking, you must use the shelter before 8 p.m. on the day, after which the priority right expires and others may use it.

Shelters can be booked 3 months in advance.
