Bronze sculpture of the sea goddess Oceania. A gift from The Odense City Art Foundation and Asea Brown Boveri A/S in 1992 and probably the most talked about work of art in Odense, next to Bjørn Nørgaard's Trinity. The kids love it and use it as a toy, tourists want to know if it is male or female and the locals either love it or absolutely detest it. See for yourself and decide which side you are on. The artist Svend Wiig Hansen is responsible for several large scale sculptures around the country.

Svend Wiig Hansen (1922-1997) graduated from the Copenhagen Art Academy in 1950 and was a central figure in post-war Danish art, who in both his paintings and sculpture persistently worked with people and their relationships.
