Restaurant Herthadalen dates back to 1788 and is now a popular venue for celebrations and events, surrounded by protected nature. With a focus on organic produce and local craftsmanship, food is always at the heart of the experience.

A complete dining experience

At Herthadalen, you can experience the kitchen’s uncompromising approach to flavour. The restaurant has been awarded the Bronze Organic Cuisine Label, and the menu is created around seasonal ingredients – often grown at Herthamarken, the restaurant’s own organic vegetable field just 10 minutes away. The kitchen also works closely with local producers and passionate food artisans.

Restaurant Herthadalen aims to make the best possible use of its ingredients and uses the whole animal – from nose to tail. The result is a complete dining experience with a focus on skilled craftsmanship and making thoughtful use of every ingredient.

Enjoy summer on the terrace

During the summer months and around occasions such as Easter, Mortensaften and Christmas, the restaurant also opens to guests outside private functions. Weather permitting, you can sit on the large terrace and enjoy views of the forest, garden and the small woodland lake, Knapsø.

Take a taste of Herthadalen home

The restaurant also has a small farm shop where you can buy selected local ingredients and products to take home. These include chocolate from Friis-Holm, cider from Olsens and apple mead from Snoremark. The shop accepts cash, MobilePay and Dankort.

Celebrate in the heart of the forest

Herthadalen offers event spaces throughout the year, with the forest as a natural backdrop. The surroundings are ideal for outdoor activities, with plenty of room for both play and time together in the open air. Your event is planned in close consultation with the organisers, with options to tailor both the menu and the programme.
