The restaurant at Mejeriet Tunø

Mejeriet Tunø is the central Tunø meeting point. Great culinary experiences await here spiced with a fantastic view of the Kattegat and a warm and relaxed atmosphere.

Experience the taste of Tunø

Just a few minutes’ walk from the ferry landing on Tunø, you will find the island’s old dairy, which today houses a cosy and atmospheric restaurant as well as charming accommodation. Mejeriet is a natural and inviting stop on your day trip or holiday on Tunø, offering delicious food and cold drinks on the spacious terrace with sea views or indoors in warm and welcoming surroundings.

At Mejeriet Tunø, high-quality local ingredients take centre stage. All dishes are homemade from scratch using in-house recipes, ensuring a unique and authentic experience for every guest. The kitchen makes use of as many local products as possible – including freshly harvested Tunø vegetables and meat from free-range Danish animals.

Delicious island dishes

The menu at Mejeriet features a small selection of beloved classic dishes made with care. No matter what you choose, it is prepared from scratch. There is something for every taste, so the whole family is sure to find a tempting option. The restaurant is open for both lunch and dinner. In the evening, the menu expands to include starters and desserts, allowing you to put together a 2- or 3-course meal if you wish.

In the heart of a charming holiday island

Mejeriet Tunø is located in the idyllic village at the heart of Tunø, just a few hundred metres from the harbour where the ferry docks. The restaurant enjoys a scenic setting, close to the beach and the island’s main attractions. Mejeriet is the perfect place to stop either before or after a walk around the island – or while you wait for the ferry back to the mainland.

Tunø is a car-free gem in the Kattegat, full of charm and island atmosphere. Whether you are here for a longer stay or just a day trip, you will find plenty of unique experiences. The ferry crossing from Hou on the mainland takes about an hour. You can find inspiration for things to do on Tunø on this page.
