Ryegaard and Trudsholm estates - landscape and history
Discover the countryside of the Ryegaard and Trudsholm estates near Kirke Såby on Zealand, west of Copenhagen. Woodland, grazing animals and historic buildings shape the landscape, with seasonal events adding to the experience.

Deer park and countryside
Ryegaard and Trudsholm Estates have approximately 200 hectares of natural areas that are maintained e.g. by grazing sheep, cows and horses. There are more than 70 burial mounds in the area.
Ryegaard Deer Park (“Dyrehave”) is a fantastic excursion destination. It is especially the fenced part of the Deer Park, which provides some completely unique experiences of hilly landscape with views of the fjord.
Around Christmas you can cut down your own Christmas tree at Ryegaard and Trudsholm Manors and there is a Christmas market.
Ryegaard Manor
Ryegaard's history dates back to before 1350. The manor has been owned by the family Scheel since 1824.
Trudsholm Manor
Trudsholms listed main building, which is perhaps the oldest single Renaissance building in Denmark, was built in 1551, but has not been inhabited since 1990. Trudsholm is used for weddings, exhibitions and events, both for companies, associations and individuals.
