SAK Kunstbygning (art centre) presents 15–20 exhibitions each year, focusing on contemporary art and visual culture alongside cultural events and art salons. Exhibitions range from painting and graphic art to sculpture and installation.
From 13 September to 25 October, Sydfynske Kunstnere, Fyn’s oldest artists’ association with roots dating to 1955, presents its group exhibition. Works by members and invited guest artists span painting, graphic art, sculpture and installation art.
SAK Kunstbygning also houses a permanent collection of works by sculptor Kai Nielsen, a collection of art from South Fyn, a specialist art library and a lithographic print workshop. Its roots lie in SAK – Svendborg Amts Kunstforening, founded by local artists and craftspeople in 1941.
