Nestled among the cliffs by Sandvig Harbour, IS Kalas and the Kalas-Kalas café offer views across the sea to Hammerknuden. Take a seat on the terrace or close to the water’s edge with homemade gelato, freshly roasted coffee and a sweet treat from the café, and enjoy a particularly beautiful corner of Bornholm.

The ice cream is made fresh every day, inspired by Italian gelato and prepared with organic whole milk. There is also a good selection of vegan options, while flavours change through the season according to the fruit and berries available from local gardens. Rhubarb, elderflower, strawberries, blackcurrants, cherries, plums, apples and pears may all appear in the ice-cream counter, alongside fresh herbs and more surprising flavours.

The café also serves coffee from Roast Coffee, cinnamon buns and other sweet treats. Children can borrow fishing nets to explore life in the water, climb on the rocks or search for beautiful stones and “children’s diamonds”.
