Saunahytten Skagen
Experience a sauna session at Vippefyret in Skagen every Sunday from 1 October 2025. Here you’ll enjoy three relaxing sessions of heat, the scents of aromatherapy and breaks in the fresh sea air – with the chance to take a cold dip in the waves right below.

Sauna ritual in the great outdoors at Vippefyret
Vippefyret is one of Skagen’s most iconic spots, and the sauna cabin offers views of the sea and sky. You’ll feel the heat spreading through your body as the sauna master distributes the steam with gentle movements. You can use the breaks between rounds to step out into the salty breeze, feel the sand beneath your feet and – if you’re up for it – take a quick, refreshing dip. The combination of heat, cold and nature brings peace of mind and renewed energy to the body.
How a session works
A session typically consists of three rounds spread over about an hour. Each round has its own pace and scent theme, so you can find your own rhythm. You arrive at the sauna hut fully dressed, and swimwear is required for safety and hygiene reasons. Along the way, you can cool off outdoors and drink water to maintain a balance between warmth and well-being. If you’re new to sauna infusions, you can sit on the lower benches to begin with and work your way up gradually as your body gets used to the heat.
Tips for your experience
Bring a large towel to sit on and to dry yourself with after the breaks. Bathing shoes or neoprene shoes can be useful on the beach and at the water’s edge. Drink water before, during and after – ideally from a reusable bottle.
